Matthieu Le Corre, Ph.D., is a lecturer at the University of Réunion Island in Réunion, France. He is also the local coordinator for the Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Associations, an international organization dedicated to the study and conservation of marine life in the region. Le Corre’s Pew Marine Fellowship project studies the foraging zones of seabirds. The data will be used to identify oceanic hotspots of biodiversity in the tropical Indian Ocean and contribute to the design of international marine protected areas in the region.
